“CRIME”: Critiquing Googles approach to its diversity program.

SYNOPSIS: When a Google diversity program solicited feedback, Mr. Damore shared an internal memo arguing that while discrimination exists, it is incorrect to assume that it is responsible for all demographic disparities within the workforce. Instead, he argued that a notable degree of male/female disparities among software engineers can be explained by biological differences; primarily female statistic preference in people rather than things, as well as differing statistical distribution in personality traits that would favor alternative fields of pursuit than software engineering.

Shortly after circulating within an internal company mailing list, a version of the memo (omitting cited sources) was published by Gizmondo, quickly going viral and causing controversy on social media. Mr. Damore was fired remotely 2 days later.
